SIGNATURE PROJECTS: OSUN'S VILLAGE, AFRICAN CARIBBEAN CULTURAL ARTS CORRIDOR AND OSUNDARA YORUBA DANCE THEATER.
As stated in the State of Florida's 2006 Legislative Bill, "The Osun’s Village and African Caribbean Cultural Arts Corridor will be the first of many initiatives which will promote: workforce development in the cultural industry; social change by creating access through transportation; cross-cultural awareness which will stimulate economic growth throughout our urban communities; and international trade and commerce.
Focusing on cultural similarities, we link communities by harnessing their intrinsic cultural uniqueness to create job and training opportunities for community residents through the development of the traditional arts, cultural and tourism industries.
The initiative is positioned as a public-private partnership in collaboration with: artists, traditionalist and Ministries of Culture and Tourism in their respective countries. We envision the further development of Osun's Villages and African Caribbean Cultural Arts Corridors, inclusive of: self contained sustainable green artist communities with on-site artist studios/workspace, galleries and restaurants throughout Africa, the Caribbean, Europe and South America.
